Frequently Asked Questions:
Q: Will there be a charge if I miss my appointment? A: If you call 24 hours in advance to cancel your appointment, there will be no fee. If not, $100 fees will be assessed for missed stress tests and $50 fees for all other missed appointments.
Q: How should I prepare for my renal ultrasound and/or aorta ultrasound? A: You should fast after midnight, not smoke and not chew gum. You may only have water to drink and you may take any meds that don’t require food.
Q: How should I prepare for my echo and/or carotid Doppler? A: No preparations need to be made for these tests. You may eat and take medications as you normally would.
Q: Who do I call if I need to speak to someone at the office before or after office hours? A: You can call our office 24 hours a day. If it’s before 9am, after 5pm or between 12 and 1PM you can speak to someone at our answering service who will page the on call doctor if needed. If it is an emergency, we ask that you do not hesitate to call 911.
Q: How do I prepare for my stress test? A: All instructions for stress tests are listed on our website. Please read these at least 24 hours in advance.
Q: What should I bring to my initial appointment? A: Bring your paperwork filled out that we previously mailed to you. Along with a physical copy of all valid insurance cards that we will scan into our computer.
Q: How do I go about getting a refill on a prescription from Dr. Arne? A: Call and give all pertinent information to our receptionist. The nurse will then call in your prescription for you. Please allow up to 48 hours for processing. Do NOT wait until you are out of your medication!
Q: What if I have a question for Dr. Arne but don’t necessarily need an appointment? A: You may call our office and speak with our nurse (or leave a message if she’s not available) who will then speak to Dr. Arne and get back to you as soon as she can.
Q: Who do I notify with change in address, phone number, insurance etc.? A: Please call our office as soon as possible with any of these changes so we can make the proper adjustments to your chart.
Q: Who do I contact for billing inquiries? A: Since all of our billing is done out of our office we ask that you call our billing company, Sudaco at 349-7872.
Q: Where exactly is your office located? A: If you’re coming from the south, Floyd Street will be first street on your left after Waldemere Street. Coming from the north, Floyd Street will be the third street on your right after Bahia Vista. We are the 2nd building on the north side of Floyd Street. We are a one story brown building, located in Suite A.
Q: Am I responsible for getting an authorization for any testing that I need done at Gulfshore Cardiology? A: No, once you are scheduled we will take care of finding out if you need an authorization and then obtaining it if necessary. If any issues arise we will contact you as soon as possible to resolve the problem.
Q: How do I know if I need a referral? A: You should contact your insurance company to first see if you need a referral. If you do, please contact us as soon as possible so we may make the proper arrangements.
Q: How do I go about transferring my records from another doctor or facility to Dr. Arne? A: We will be more than happy to take care of this for you. You may need to sign a Release of Medical Records (which is included in your paperwork) if we do not have one on file for you. We will then contact the doctor you are requesting to get records from and obtain the records. Please allow up to a week for us to receive these records.
Q: What hospitals is Dr. Arne affiliated with? A: Sarasota Memorial Hospital and Doctors Hospital
Q: What diagnostic testing does Dr. Arne offer at his office? A: We can do nuclear stress test, chemical stress test, echocardiograms, renal artery dopplers, abdominal aortic ultrasounds, carotid dopplers and pacemaker checks, which are all done here in our office. If any other testing needs done that Dr. Arne finds necessary that we don’t do in office, we are able to refer you to the proper facility.
Q: Is payment due at time of service? A: When you check in your co-pay will be due (if you have one). If you are a self-pay patient, payment in full is due at time of check out, unless prior arrangements have been made. All other payments will be processed and you will receive a bill through our billing company. Payments for these bills may be made in our office. Cash, checks and credit (Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express) is accepted.
